The Challenge

Sibros Technologies, a cutting-edge “Internet of Things” company focused on vehicle software, was wrestling with the challenge of onboarding employees scattered across the globe. With just two HR leaders handling all human resources tasks across the US, Europe, and India, Sibros knew it needed to automate some of its manual processes in order to create a world-class employee experience.

The lean team, led by Senior People Manager Michelle Colangelo, wanted to stop manually slogging through new hire onboarding and training.

Shifting gears with automation 

With Rippling, Sibros cut out its manual onboarding work. The company now uses country-specific templates to streamline the offer letter process, replacing cumbersome spreadsheet checklists with custom workflows that send out personalized onboarding guides for different regions employees live. This helped unshackle Michelle and the team from previous limitations so they could focus on more high-impact tasks like implementing retention measures and DEI initiatives. 

Next, Sibros created custom fields that allowed admins to integrate immigration details and location-specific employee information. This ensured that each new hire had a tailored experience and also enabled Sibros to stay compliant.

Accelerating learning with advanced systems

The innovation didn’t stop there. With Rippling’s Learning Management System (LMS), Michelle turned mandatory training from a time drain into an automated self-serve system. The LMS helps ensure a continuous loop of compliance and learning by automating training issuance, tracking completions, sending reminders, and scheduling upcoming sessions. Michelle also used the LMS to establish a monthly workflow that flags overdue training—keeping everyone on track. She even set up custom training courses with interactive quizzes to keep employees engaged and help them retain the material.

Creating a stronger culture

Sibros also tailored its time-off policies to match the specific laws of each country. With Rippling’s help, the Sibros team now easily sets up calendars that reflect country and region-specific holidays.
The company also used Rippling automations to shoutout employee birthdays and work anniversaries, reinforcing a culture of appreciation. The Sibros team also introduced a 30-day survey for new hires, opening a channel for feedback and driving continuous improvement.
